Is an air fryer worth the counter space?

For most kitchens, yes — with a couple of honest caveats.

Short version: An air fryer is a small, fast convection oven. If you cook for one or two and want crisp food quickly without heating the whole oven, it earns its space. Cooking for a crowd? Less so.

What it's genuinely great at

Fast, crispy results on frozen foods, vegetables, wings and reheating leftovers — with little or no oil and no oven preheat. It's quicker and cooler than the big oven for small batches.

The honest caveats

Capacity — baskets are small; you'll cook in batches for a family.
Counter space — they're bulkier than they look.
Not magic — it's convection, not frying; great results, not deep-fried results.
