Why specific topics earn more from display ads

AdSense delivers ads based on the content of your page. When your page is about "fitness," the ad system has to make broad guesses about what's relevant — and the advertisers bidding on broad fitness keywords are often lower-value. When your page is specifically about recovery nutrition for masters-level marathon runners, the targeting is precise, the relevant advertiser pool is more specialized, and the CPCs tend to be higher. The same logic applies to search traffic. A page optimized around a specific long-tail question will outrank broad coverage every time for that specific query. And readers who arrive with that specific question in mind are the most engaged kind of visitor — which tends to translate into better ad engagement metrics.

Writing every day matters more than writing well

This is one of those truths that sounds wrong but holds up: consistency of output compounds in ways that quality alone doesn't. A blog with 300 decent articles will accumulate substantially more traffic than a blog with 30 exceptional ones, because it has surface area across far more search queries. The exceptional blog might have better individual pieces, but the consistent one is discoverable from more angles. That said, "writing every day" isn't the right frame if it means producing filler. Daily output that helps nobody isn't accumulating value — it's accumulating content debt. The practical target is consistent output of things people would actually look up, written in a way that's genuinely more useful than the other results on that topic.

Multiple blogs versus one deep blog

Running more than one blog multiplies both your potential and your obligations. A second blog in a complementary niche can significantly increase your total ad impressions, especially if the two audiences are distinct. A gardening blog and a cooking blog might overlap enough that readers follow both, but the ad targeting will be different and the combined traffic serves more advertising categories. The caution: maintaining two blogs at a consistent quality level requires roughly twice the content effort. Most people find that one genuinely good blog is more valuable than two neglected ones.

What I'd skip

I'd skip writing about topics you have no real interest in just because you found them listed somewhere as "high-CPC keywords." AdSense earnings on a topic you can't write about with any depth or authenticity will never justify the effort. The readers who arrive via search are looking for genuine expertise; they'll bounce when they sense the content was written for ads rather than for them, and that bounce rate will suppress your rankings over time. Write about what you know or are actively learning. That's where the quality and consistency both come from. **Bottom line:** Narrow, specific content on topics you're genuinely knowledgeable about earns more from AdSense than broad general content — through better targeting, higher advertiser competition, and stronger search visibility.
